Art and Digital: Virtual reality in hospital

From June to December 2024

With the aim of bringing art to the bedside of children in hospital, Culture for Children has developed a pilot project entitled "Virtual reality in hospital", based around the exhibition Cosmos Destination, the ultimate challenge

The program

Culture for Children aims to bring art to the bedside of children in critical care units who are isolated and far removed from the cultural scene.

Unable to visit an art centre, this pilote project permits to offer them a cultural interlude in their routine, which is punctuated by treatment. The use of virtual reality is a real invitation to travel through space and develop their scientific culture

How does it works ?

During each intervention at the bedside, which lasts 1.5 hours, a cultural mediator works alongside the child, alternating educational content, viewing the exhibition with virtual reality headset (divided into chapters of around 10 minutes) and practising art activities linked to the theme of the Cosmos.
